SNOB

The day has been great till i met this snobbish couple at work!
Cashier area was pretty pack during evening period, so i went forward to help with the packing of liquors. There was this indian passenger who bought 2 bottles of Glenlivet whiskey, and wanted to put his alcohol into the complimentary bag which was quite small. i had quite a hard time trying to squeeze the 2 bottles into the bag. when i finally did, this ang moh couple came in next in the line. this lady kept complaining that im being very slow. so this was our conversation

Lady: 'So slow!' (sounding really irritated)

Me: 'Sorry to keep you waiting'(trying to be polite and trying to pack as fast as possible)

Lady: 'Of cos, you're wasting my time and not yours!'

Me: pretending i didnt hear it. but was starting to get irritated with her constant complains

Lady: 'See that cashier lady packs 3 drinks faster than u packing 1'

(Please! i was trying to squeeze her 2 bottles of wine (packed in a bag) into the small seal bag! of cos il be slow!)

Me:'Sorry, im pretty new to this'(trying to be apologetic)

Husband or BF of this lady: (Pointed his evil finger to me) 'You're supposed to say sorry when you're customers give comments like this and not say you're new'

he's got a point there, but bloody hell! i apologised! they are so freaking rude!!!!!!
and furthermore, im not even paid to help with the packing! that's why after that incident, i refuse to help with the packing for the rest of the evening!

he bought wine(promotion 2 for 48) and absolute mango.
i know its not very nice to judge customers by just what they buy. but they are so F-snobbish! and i really pity them! cos they dont have this very important asset called PATIENCE!
petty i am, but im so angry!

it doesn't kill to be a little nicer to people who help you! even if you're paying!!!

spoilt my day!

Life is like a western meal.

with appetiser, main course, side dishes and finally dessert
love is like dessert, good to have as it finishes everything and sweeten your dinner
but you can also do without it. As the main dishes itself can keep you filled already.
Do we need love??
I guess for most of us, we WANT love and dont really NEED it.

I WANT love.

Her World

Read this article on Her World.

After struggling through a nightmare week,we would be super looking forward to weekends. as we want the weekend to be a perfect, time for us to relax and unwind from pressures and strains of modern life. There's so many things we want to do, so many places we want to go.
Thus, saturday and sundays are no longer peaeful, instead we would be even more washed out.
waking up on monday morning, feeling bleary eyed.

oh ya, everytime i said that i wanna catch up my sleep during the weekend, its actually a really bad idea. Too much sleep on Saturday morning can cause headaches and prevent you from sleeping on Sunday night.

Changing Your Behavior
by Rick Warren

Be careful how you think; your life is shaped by your thoughts. Proverbs 4:23 (GNT)

*** *** *** ***

One of the great psychological discoveries of the past century is that your thoughts control your actions. If you want to change the way you act, you must first change how you think.

Actually, thousands of years ago, Solomon pointed this out when he wrote, “Be careful how you think; your life is shaped by your thoughts” (Proverbs 4:23 GNT).

The Bible says our thoughts influence six areas of our lives:

· My interpretation influences my situation.
It’s not what happens to me that matters as much as how I choose to see it. The way I react will determine whether the circumstance makes me better or bitter. I can view everything as an obstacle or an opportunity for growth – a stumbling block or a stepping stone. “Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything” (James 1:2-4 NIV).

· My impressions influence my depressions.
In other words, my mind affects my mood; my thinking determines my feelings. If I’m feeling depressed, it’s because I’m choosing to think depressing thoughts – about my work, family, or anything else. While you cannot always control a feeling, you can choose what you think about, which will control how you feel.“Hear me and answer me. My thoughts trouble me and I am distraught . . .”(Psalm 55:2 NIV).

· My beliefs influence my behavior.
We always act according to our beliefs, even when those ideas are false. For instance, as a child, if you believed a shadow in your bedroom at night was a monster, your body reacted in fear (adrenaline and jitters) even though it wasn’t true. That’s why it’s so important to make sure you are operating on true information! Your convictions about yourself, about life, and about God influence your conduct.“If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples” (John 8:31 NIV).

· My self-talk influences my self-esteem.
You are constantly talking to yourself unconsciously. When you walk into a room full of strangers, what do you tend to think about yourself? To develop more confidence you’re going to have to stop running yourself down! “Ashe thinks in his heart, so is he”(Proverbs 23:7 NKJV).

· My attitude influences my ability.
Winners expect to win. Your perception controls your performance. Mohammed Ali only lost two fights in his career. Before both of them, he said something that he hadn’t said before other fights: “If I should lose this fight […].”“All things are possible to him who believes” (Mark 9:23 NKJV).

· My imagination influences my aspirations.
In other words, your dreams determine your destiny. To accomplish anything, you must first have a mission, a goal, a hope, a vision. “Where there is no vision, the people perish” (Proverbs 29:18 KJV).

these days

Been 2 weeks since i came back from australia. im in some kinda culture shock there. its really nice to get to know some of my distance cousins. they are really HOT! and friendly. seriously, should have seen what they wear to the wedding. the wedding is like wow wow boom! dancing thru the night with good food and good wine. everyone's totally enjoying themselves.

Been pretty busy working after i came back.
heard some really funny rumours bout me working hard. hahaha! hilarious!

I really enjoyed working with my fellow colleagues, especially gwen! i like her alot. she's so real and sincere. and has this DA JIE DA feel. but she's leaving already. upset........
been doing promotion for martell for the past 2 months, time really flies.

went for the pernod dinner at intercontinental hotel that day. finally saw some pictures up on the facebook.

great crew i would say. =)

Hate the way emotions fluctuates along with the rhythm.
Easily losing composure.
Tears of joy and sorrow pours with every little thing that comes in the way.
No model way to go about it.
What it all takes would be sheer guts. which is what i lack.
Heart pumps faster. butterflies in the stomach.
always on my mind.

realised that some of my colleagues are actually engaged in really long relationships like 5, 6 years sort. man! seriously wonder how they maintain the love fire throughout these stormy years.
im not even confident to do that. i think im a pretty selfish lover. i also think i a perfectionist especially when it comes to love, i refuse to settle for anything but the best. sounds haughty. but oh wells..

im really glad that i actually made time to meet up with friends, beat, gary, vic. really nice catching up and talking to them
enjoying something called LIFE now. something calm and seemingly insignificant but mean a great deal to me.
i rather small cosy meet ups as compared to big outings. its not that i dont like big outings but just that i prefer 1 to 1 chats.

oh ya! CINDY WENDY KAT!!!!!!!!!! please keep a day free from ur busy busy calander.... to meet up with CARENE TAN!
hahaha

im really excited for my special project coming up. hahaha. hope its not gonna be too painful.as my pain threshold for this is very very low... pray for me

okies, off to work now. ciaos

Ironies

Here's something to share. asri sent me this ironies of men and women which is quite interesting

Men:

  1.     All men are extremely busy.

  2.     Although they are so busy, they still have time for women.

  3.     Although they have time for women, they don't really care for them.

  4.     Although they don't really care for them, they always have one around.

  5.     Although they always have one around them, they always try their luck with others.

  6.     Although they try their luck with others, they get really pissed off if the woman leaves them.

  7.     Although the woman leaves them they still don't learn from their mistakes and still try their luck with others!

Women:

  1.     The most important thing for a woman is financial security.

  2.     Although this is so important, they still go out and buy expensive clothes and stuff.

  3.     Although they always buy expensive clothes, they will  still say that they never have something to wear!

  4.     Although they never have something to wear, they always dress beautifully.

  5.     Although they always dress beautifully, you hardly care .

  6.     Although you hardly care, they still expect you to compliment them.

  7.     Although they expect you to compliment them, when you do, they don't believe you!

Olympics

I share their joy when they complete the last lap, speeding through the finishing line, doing their last dive, executing their last regime, playing their last match..
i feel touched, exhilarated by the joy of tears on their face when they win the Gold, Silver, Bronze medal.

Seriously i think many of us usually just remember the First of each aspects, forgetting the 2nd, 3rd who put in just as much effort in clinching the top 3.

Anw finally im having a 2 day consecutive off day! quite rare! or should i say its the first time of this month! getting FULL rest man.
i think i need to get my ass outta my house and go for yoga!

im getting quite alot of sleep lately, which is a good thing! less baggy eyes and dark circles.
